ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷാ നിയമപ്രകാരം സ്ത്രീകൾക്കെതിരെയുള്ള ക്രിമിനൽ കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ Criminal offenses against women under the Indian Penal Code
സ്ത്രീയുടെ മാന്യതയ്ക്ക് കോട്ടം തട്ടുന്ന തരത്തിൽ ഒരു വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിക്കുകയോ, അപമാനിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഒരു വസ്തു പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയാണെങ്കിൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷ നിയമം 509 ആം വകുപ്പ് പ്രകാരം ഒരു വര്ഷം വരെ തടവോ,പിഴയോ അതുമല്ലെങ്കിൽ രണ്ടും കൂടെയോ ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.
ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ മാന്യതയ്ക്ക് ഭംഗം വരുത്തണം എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശത്തോടു കൂടെ അവരെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്യാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയോ അതിനായി ബലം പ്രയോഗിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നത്,ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷ നിയമം 354 ആം വകുപ്പ് പ്രകാരം രണ്ടുവർഷം വരെ വെറും തടവും,പിഴയും അല്ലെങ്കിൽ രണ്ടിലേതെങ്കിലും ഒന്ന് നടപ്പിലാക്കാം.സുപ്രീംകോടതിയുടെ ഈ വകുപ്പിലുള്ള നിരീക്ഷണം എന്താണെന്നു വെച്ചാൽ 'ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്ക് അവർ അപമാനിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന് തോന്നിയാൽ ഈ വകുപ്പുകൾ പ്രകാരം അതിനു കാരണക്കാരായവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കണം എന്നാണ്.
അരോചകമായ രീതിയിൽ പൊതുസ്ഥലത്തു വെച്ച് അശ്ലീലകൃത്യം ചെയ്യുകയോ,വാക്കുകൾ ഉച്ചരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നത് 3 മാസം വരെ ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കാവുന്ന കുറ്റമാണ്.
അശ്ളീല പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ വിൽക്കുന്നതും,പ്രായം തികയാത്ത കുട്ടികൾക്ക് പുസ്തകം വിൽക്കുന്നതും.2 മുതൽ 5 വര്ഷം വരെ തടവ് ലഭിക്കാവുന്ന കുറ്റകൃത്യമാണ്.
Criminal offenses against women under the Indian Penal Code
Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code provides for imprisonment for up to one year, a fine or both, for uttering a word that offends a woman's dignity or displaying an object that is insulting.
Attempting to assault or coerce a woman with the intent to infringe on her dignity is punishable by up to two years' imprisonment, fine, or both, subject to section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. According to, those responsible should be punished.
Offenses such as indecent exposure or uttering words in public are punishable by up to 3 months' imprisonment.
Selling pornographic books and selling books to minors is a crime punishable by imprisonment for 2 to 5 years.
